Where dispatch reaches

Dispatch starts in Colton and reaches the nearby towns listed below. Each town has its own page covering its ZIP codes, the water provider where that is clear, and the local drainage and building details that shape water damage there. Pick the one closest to your address.

Water providers and permit offices differ from town to town, and it affects who you call when a main line fails or a repair needs a permit. Colton, San Bernardino, Loma Linda and Grand Terrace each have their own city offices, while Bloomington is unincorporated and falls under San Bernardino County. Check your water bill for your provider, and ask your city building department before you start rebuilding.

Bloomington

San Bernardino, just north of Colton

San Bernardino is the county seat, and the ZIP codes we serve there are 92401, 92403, 92404, 92405, 92407, 92408, 92410 and 92411. San Bernardino Municipal Water Department runs the city's water and sewer, so a street main problem is a call to that utility.

City Creek, Lytle Creek, Twin Creek, San Timoteo Creek and Warm Creek all feed the Santa Ana River in this part of the valley, and county records describe floods in 1862, 1938 and 1969. For a homeowner, that history is a reason to check the FEMA flood map for your address and to ask your insurer about flood coverage.

Loma Linda, east of Colton

Loma Linda has three ZIP codes in our coverage: 92354, 92350 and 92357. The city's Public Works department runs drinking water and the sewer system, and its Building and Safety Division handles permits from the office on Barton Road.

The San Timoteo Creek channel runs through town, and the city's floodplain code adds a rule worth knowing: repairs inside a flood hazard area can trigger a substantial-damage review of repair cost against the building's value. If your house sits in a mapped zone, ask the city before you rebuild.

Grand Terrace, next door

Grand Terrace is a small city of about 13,000 people with ZIP 92313, and ZIP lookup sites also list Colton's 92324 as an alias for it. Riverside Highland Water Company supplies water, and the city's own Building and Safety office handles permits.

Hills sit on both sides of town, Blue Mountain to the east and the La Loma Hills to the west, so storm runoff moves downslope toward lower streets. A homeowner at the bottom of a slope should know where the roof and yard drainage ends up before the next heavy storm.

Rialto and Bloomington to the northwest and west

Rialto is served in our coverage by ZIP codes 92376 and 92377. County flood control has completed the Cactus Basins and is improving the Rialto Channel, so the area has working infrastructure for large storms. That does not remove the risk of a roof leak or a burst line indoors.

Bloomington is an unincorporated community with ZIP 92316, so permit questions go to San Bernardino County Land Use Services. West Valley Water District serves much of the community, many properties still use septic, and a county study is looking at sewer expansion.

What changes from town to town

The kind of water damage tends to follow the kind of building. Rialto has large distribution centers in its northern Las Colinas area, where a leaking roof or sprinkler line can wet a lot of floor at once, and older downtown blocks along Foothill Boulevard that date to the Route 66 era.

Bloomington's original 1888 town site runs between Valley Boulevard and Slover Avenue, and homes in that older grid may have aging supply lines and drains. Larger households, about four people on average there, also mean more washing machines, showers and dishwashers running every day.

In San Bernardino and Loma Linda, large hospitals and a university keep a heavy daytime population, but the homes around them are where most calls start. A ceiling stain over a bedroom closet, a washer hose failure or a water heater leak is the same problem in any of these towns, and the response is the same: stop the source, then call.

How coverage and ZIP codes work

The ZIP codes on each town page describe the areas we dispatch to. They describe where crews work and make no promise about a particular response time. A ZIP code can also span more than one town, so the address matters more than the ZIP when you call.

Our own home ZIP is 92324, which covers the center of Colton and the Washington Street area where the business address sits. A crew assigned to a job takes into account the drive, the number of open jobs and the type of loss.

If your town is not listed

Call the emergency line and give the address. A coordinator will tell you plainly whether a crew can reach it. Redlands, Fontana, Highgrove and Riverside are handled the same way, as a call and a conversation about the address.

If you cannot tell which service fits, the services overview pairs each visible symptom with the work behind it. For the people behind the line and how a job runs, read about the dispatch.

Outside the listed towns?

Call the 24/7 line with the address and a coordinator will confirm what can be done.
